You must know God's
will or you cannot pray in faith
If you
walk up to me and ask for $100, how much confidence do you
have that I will give it to you? Can you ask me for that
$100 being absolutely assured that I will give it to you?
Can you have 100% faith that I will hand you $100? No, you
can’t… Why? Because I never told you that it was my will to
give you $100.
But if you know me and the integrity of my word, and I write
you a letter and say that I will give you $100; now when you
ask me you can be absolutely assured in faith that I will
give it to you because you already know that it is my will
to give it to you.
Because you know my will, you can now ask me and believe and
not doubt – and it will be yours. In fact, you could come
quite boldly and say, “I am here to receive the $100 you
promised me.” Therefore when asking for something it is
impossible to be bold and believe and not doubt unless you
fully understand the will of the person that you are asking.
Listen to Jesus’ words again.
Mark 11:23 NIV
23"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain,
'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his
heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be
done for him. 24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for
in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be
yours.
To be able to operate in the faith that Jesus is describing
here, you must know what God’s will is before you pray. So,
before you pray for healing you must absolutely know that it
is God’s will to heal you. If you don’t know that it is
God’s will to heal you; it is impossible to believe and not
doubt and believe that you have received it.
If you don’t know God’s will for something, go to James
chapter one and ask God for wisdom – but you have to know it
is God’s will to give you the wisdom! You’re not going to
get around the condition of faith!
Heb 4:16 KJV
16Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace,
that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of
need.
Can you see here that God’s grace is sufficient for all your
needs? Grace is everything that Jesus paid the price for on
the cross, even though you didn’t deserve it. But it
requires faith!
