Am I the victim of a
generational curse?
Generational curses are the result of the sins of our
ancestors. Not every sin will lead to a curse being
started, but it is possible. In general, curses travel
for four generations down the family line and are carried
out by demonic spirits. So, if your great, great, great
grandmother or grandfather performed a sin that activated a
curse, then you could be affected by that curse today. But
here's the catch; as soon as somebody cooperates with the
sin that the curse was founded upon, the curse just got
extended another four generations from that point forward.
For example, let's say an abortion was committed. This
could allow a demon of murder to enter the family line for
four generations. If, two generations later (one year
before the curse will end) another person in the family line
has an abortion, the curse will now restart from there and
continue four more generations for a total of seven.
But before those additional generations are up, somebody
else could cooperate again causing four more generations to get added. Note
that the Sin of the Bastard (Being conceived out of
wedlock) travels for ten generations, not four.
Generational curses can usually be detected by looking over
one’s ancestry and noticing reoccurring problems. Go back
over your generations and start following the tree and
branches down. Do you see a trend of anger, sickness,
disease, laziness, alcohol, child abuse, divorce, lying,
poverty, control, accidents, premature death,
murder, etc.? When you see it repeating in the generational
line there is a good chance you are dealing with a
generational curse. Usually, but not always, the longer the
curse has been in place, meaning – the longer the demons
have been active in the family line, the more they will
fight to keep from losing their ground. Demons
operating under generational curses will sometimes even
assume the last name of the family line.
Many
Christians today are suffering from the sins of their
ancestors without even knowing it. When those
strongholds are dealt with by using the authority we have in
Jesus' name, the person can be set free from problems that
have been plaguing them all of their life. |
