But don't we all have to die?

Yes, man is destined to die, unless Jesus returns first.

Heb 9:27 NIV
Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,

But just because you have to die doesn’t mean you have to die at the hands of sickness, disease or a tragedy. It is possible to just die. If you are put to death for Christ’s sake, which many apostles were – that falls under persecution for the name of Jesus, which Jesus said would happen.

John 15:20 NIV
Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

So, since you have to die, when should you die? Death from cancer at the age of 30, is that God’s will for your death? Death in a car accident at the age of 17, is that God’s will for your death? Death from the result of abduction, rape or murder, is that God’s will for your death?

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Psalm 91:16 NIV
With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

Jesus said that he came to give us life to the full, God says He will give us long life. Neither of those sounds like untimely death to me. It seems to me that we should live long, satisfying lives here on earth.

So when should you die? You tell me how long life to the full and long life are in years – I’ll add one day to it and say that’s when it’s okay for you to die.
